The four local churches that sponsored the Habitat All Faith Build were led by Scott Warner, Senior Minister at Kerrville Church of Christ; David Danielson, Lead Pastor at Impact Christian Fellowship; John Wheat, Pastor at Trinity Baptist Church; and Rev. David E. Payne from Kerrville First United Methodist Church.
The Habitat All Faith Build served as a poignant reminder that faith, when translated into action, has the power to raise not just walls and roofs but also hopes and dreams for a local family in need. Dedicated to the memory of Glenn McGinnis, this build honored a man instrumental in making Habitat for Humanity Kerr County what it is today. Glenn was a devoted volunteer and served on the board, and in his honor, the street where this home stands was named McGinnis Court.
This home was built for the Alexander family: Kaitlyn, Benjamin, and their 2-year-old son. They lived in a modest three-bedroom house with Kaitlyn’s parents and six other family members. Kaitlyn, a stay-at-home mom by day and a 911 operator by night, ensured her community’s safety. Benjamin, who proudly serves in the Reserves, has worked at Love’s Travel Stop for seven years. Despite completing their required sweat equity hours, they continued to volunteer, eager to learn and contribute to future projects. Kaitlyn and Benjamin embodied our program’s dedication and community spirit, showcasing the power of hard work and shared goals.
This Habitat All Faith Build stands as a testament to the collaborative power of faith communities coming together to make a tangible difference in the lives of families in need.
