Happy Thanksgiving from Habitat for Humanity Kerr Happy Thanksgiving from Habitat for Humanity Kerr County.

This year has asked a lot of Kerr County. And yet, time and time again, our neighbors, volunteers, partners, and donors showed up for one another. Building hope and reminding us what it truly means to be Hill Country Strong.

From every family we serve and every home we repair, to every volunteer who picked up a hammer or offered a helping hand, thank you. We are grateful to stand side by side with this community, today and every day.

Happy Thanksgiving.

We are especially grateful for the important work made possible by the Community Foundations Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, and for people like LeRoy whose lifetime of service inspires us every day.

A heartfelt thank you to The Hill Country Community Journal for helping share these stories and shining a light on the impact this community is creating together.

And we are so grateful for a community that supports Habitat and makes it possible for us to continue this work of building homes, communities, and hope.

This season, Kerr County is truly leading with heart. 💛
At Habitat for Humanity Kerr County, we are humble At Habitat for Humanity Kerr County, we are humbled to walk alongside this community. 💚

For 36 years, Kerr County families have built alongside us. This year, we are honored to give back to the community that has given so much to Habitat.

We are grateful to the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, who chose Habitat to help repair and rebuild homes affected by the July 4 flood. Their trust allows us to stand with families who lost so much, including people like Maria.

Maria’s Story: Home by the Holidays
When the floods hit Center Point, Maria was eight months pregnant and caring for her young daughter. In one devastating day, her family lost two homes. Her own and her parents’ next door. Just weeks later, she gave birth early to a baby girl. Thanks to the Community Foundation’s Kerr County Flood Relief Fund and Habitat’s disaster recovery team, her parents’ home was repaired quickly, giving them a safe place to stay. Maria’s home is now being rebuilt and the goal is to welcome her entire family home by Christmas.
Stories like Maria’s are powerful reminders of faith, perseverance, and the strength of Kerr County.

We are honored to serve this community, and honored to be trusted with this work.

💚 Habitats Greens of Gratitude Golf Invitationa 💚 Habitats Greens of Gratitude Golf Invitational - Honoring Hill Country Heroes 💚

We had such a beautiful day at Scott Schreiner Golf Course as our community came together to honor the Hill Country Heroes who carried Kerr County through the July 4 flood. This tournament was created to give back to the people who gave so much. It was a day filled with hope, connection, and deep appreciation.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this day so special.

Their support is what allowed Habitat for Humanity Kerr County to donate teams to First Responders, Utility Crews, mental health professionals, city and county crews, animal rescues, and community volunteers who stood strong when our community needed them most.

When the July 4 flood hit Kerr County, Kerrville P When the July 4 flood hit Kerr County, Kerrville Pets Alive sprang into action to protect the most vulnerable members of our community... our pets and the people who love them.

Their team led:
• Pet search and rescue
• Emergency medical care
• Pet and owner reunification
• Free pet food and supplies for displaced families

In a moment of crisis, they showed up with compassion, courage, and tireless dedication. To so many families, pets are family — and KPA! made sure they were not forgotten.

This Friday, we are honored to welcome Kerrville Pets Alive to Habitats Greens of Gratitude Golf Invitational as we celebrate the helpers who lifted our community when it was needed most.
Thank you, @kerr_pets, for serving with heart and protecting the bond between pets and families across Kerr County.
When the July 4 flood shook Kerr County, our local When the July 4 flood shook Kerr County, our local NAPA teams didn’t hesitate. They became boots on the ground — repairing equipment, delivering fuel and supplies, and making sure responders had what they needed to keep going.

With support from NAPA stores across the country, they raised and distributed tens of thousands of dollars of material to the people who needed it most. Their dedication, generosity, and heart for this community embody what it means to be #KerrvilleStrong.

This Friday, we are honored to welcome the NAPA team to Habitats Greens of Gratitude Golf Invitational as we celebrate the heroes & helpers who lifted our community when it mattered most.

Thank you, NAPA - Kerrville Automotive and NAPA-Ingram Auto Parts , for being part of Kerr County’s healing and hope.
When the July 4 flood hit Kerr County, Habitat’s When the July 4 flood hit Kerr County, Habitat’s former Executive Director Philip Stacy woke to a call that his 80-year-old mother-in-law was trapped in her home, water up to her waist, with no way out and 911 unable to respond immediately due to high call volumes.

He called a friend he trusted — KPUB CEO Mike Wittler.

Mike was already responding to the flood and immediately went to her home. He waded through flood water, got her out safely, and reunited her with family. Philip says it plainly: “He saved her life.”

Mike is not playing in our tournament, but his actions reflect the spirit of KPUB and the linemen and engineers who will be joining us Friday — servant-leaders who show up when our community needs them most.

Habitats Greens of Gratitude Golf Invitational is not about competition. It is a day to say thank you to those who carried Kerr County through the flood and helped rebuild hope one act of courage at a time.

Thank you, Mike, and thank you to the entire @kerrville_pub team for your service and your heart.
