Welcome Home Ben, Kaitlyn, and Kieran

We are thrilled to share the story of Ben, Kaitlyn, and their three-year-old son, Kieran, who recently became proud homeowners through the Habitat All Faith Build. This home was made possible by the collaborative efforts of four local churches: Kerrville Church of Christ, Impact Christian Fellowship, Trinity Baptist Church, and Kerrville First United Methodist Church. We are deeply grateful for their dedication and support.

Kaitlyn is a telecommunicator and 911 dispatcher in Kerrville, where she has worked for two years. Benjamin has been a tire technician at Love's Travel Stop for six years and serves in the National Guard, having been on recall for two years.

The family of three had been living with Kaitlyn’s mom, stepdad, and sister in an overcrowded home. They were most looking forward to having their own space and privacy, where they could raise and grow their family and build bonds with the community around them. Their current neighborhood had few children, making it challenging for Kieran to find playmates. Kaitlyn shared, "Kieran already loves visiting the house and playing with our future neighbors."

Ben and Kaitlyn were among the first to complete their sweat equity hours in our homeownership program. Ben frequently worked with our regular volunteers, forming meaningful relationships along the way.

The Habitat All Faith Build, dedicated to the memory of Glenn McGinnis, stands as a testament to the power of community and faith in action. Glenn was instrumental in shaping Habitat for Humanity Kerr County and was a devoted volunteer and board member. The street where this home stands is named McGinnis Court in his honor.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the sponsoring churches and all the volunteers who made this home possible. Together, we continue to build homes, communities, and hope.
