Ruthie, Ayden and Anthony
House Blessing and dedication
The Kerrville Rotary Club sponsored Habitat for Humanity Kerr County’s 113th house build. The house, located at 123 Glenn Ct., is now the home of Ruthie Ortegon. Ruthie and her two children, Ayden and Anthony, along with many faithful, hardworking volunteers have given their sweat and time to build this house. A house blessing and dedication ceremony was held to celebrate the day that Ruthie, Ayden and Anthony move into their new home. The ceremony took place at 123 Glenn Ct. in Kerrville, on Saturday, December 12, 2020.
The philosophy held by Habitat for Humanity is that families need to receive a hand up and not a hand out. The families of Habitat homes are required to put in 350 hours or more of sweat equity and training to qualify for a home. Once the family completes all requirements, Habitat sells the home at cost and offers mortgages with a zero percent interest rate. These families have worked hard to improve their lives and the lives of their children.
