Future Homeowners

Class of 2020-2021

The 2020-2021 class of future homeowners completed the required 20 hours of study to prepare them for homeownership. Topics included budgeting, safety and security, home maintenance, lawn care and landscaping, insurance, taxes, mortgages, deeds, escrow accounts, closing procedures, along with the history and philosophy of Habitat for Humanity. Thank you to all the speakers who shared their knowledge with the class. In addition to the Habitat staff, this year's speakers included Bill Blackburn (HFH Kerr Co.'s founder), Sgt. Jason Lamb (Kerrville Police Dept.), Danny Lowery (Lowery Plumbing), Lee Underwood (Underwood Heating and Air Conditioning), Kyle Bond (Terminix), David Baxter and Allison Bueche (KPUB), Karen Rockoff (Rockoff Tree Solutions), Robin Miears (Nationwide Insurance), John Carlson (Carlson Law Firm), Judy Eychner (Century 21 the Hills Realty), Traci Davis (Liberty Tax Services), and Kenneth Early (Texas Hill Country Bank). Thanks to these individual's lessons, the Habitat homeowners will be prepared to handle managing their home and finances.
