The Mariposa Community
Mariposa will feature 44 thoughtfully designed, attainable homes, offering stability and opportunity to 44 families. This unique development reflects our commitment to addressing the affordable housing crisis in Kerrville, particularly for the growing workforce that drives our community forward.
In addition to our traditional program for families with very low incomes, Mariposa introduces the attainable workforce housing program. This program fills a critical gap, serving families who earn too much to qualify for housing subsidies but cannot afford market-rate homes.
Designed for essential workers—hospitality staff, service industry employees, paraprofessionals, nurse aides, and office assistants—this initiative supports the backbone of our local economy by providing the opportunity for stable homeownership.
Progress Update:
Since breaking ground in October, significant progress has been made at the Mariposa community. Mass grading is complete, detention is cut, roads are shaped, and utility installation is underway. These developments bring us closer to building strength, stability, and self-reliance for the families of Kerr County.
