Apply for a Home
1. Habitat for Humanity Kerr County assists individuals and families with affordable home ownership. Individuals and families considered must attend an information meeting and then complete the application process. You are considered in need of our program if you currently live in housing that is not adequate and you are unable to obtain adequate housing through other programs. Lack of adequate housing may include problems with the present structure you live in (water, electrical or sewage service systems; heating system, or failure to meet city property maintenance standards.) Also taken into consideration are the number, the ages and the gender of children compared to the number of bedrooms in your present home.
2. The percentage of your monthly income that you currently spend on housing is also used to determine need. During the application process you will be required to openly and fully discuss your financial situation with Habitat personnel.
3. You and your family will be considered if your annual total income is between 40-60% of the median income for Kerr County.
Informational sessions about our Home Ownership application process are held periodically throughout the year.
